Christmas is always one of my favorite times of year. Every since I was a little girl I’ve loved the holidays. It was always such a cozy time to spend with family. I love everything about the season: the music, decorations, cooking, baking, and most of all the time I get to spend with friends & family.
This year it took me a little longer than usual to get into the spirit, I didn’t actually start listening to Christmas music until about 2 weeks before Christmas. But once I was in the spirit… I was IN. I became a little overly obsessed with my wrapping this year, and I spent more time than I’d like to admit in The Paper Source picking out just the right paper, ribbon & accessories to make each package perfection. Here are a few photos of the results:
The reindeer package was the biggest hit at my family’s christmas party!
Every year we spend Christmas Day with my moms side of the family, my mom is one of 7 siblings and there’s 13 grand kids + spouses, and now 6 great grand kids + (one on the way!) so it’s a big crowd. The host always takes care of the main dish, and everyone else contributes a side, appetizer, or dessert. It seems like most years I get assigned to bring chocolate cream pie. It’s my Grandma’s recipe and everyone knows that I enjoy making it. A few years ago one of my aunts framed the original recipe in my Grandmas writing with a photos of her and gave it to everyone to have in their kitchen. I used this recipe when I bake the cake on Christmas Eve each year.
Most people have big Christmas Eve plans each year, but every year my parents and I spend Christmas eve together, just the three of us, and to be honest, it’s my favorite party of Christmas. We have scallops for dinner (all of our favorite), we cook together, wrap presents, listen to Christmas music, play games, drink champagne, and then we open some gifts. It’s such a relaxing night, no pressure, just festive & cozy. This is a photo of my parents house, my mom does the house up so cute for the holidays!
I hope everyone had a happy holiday! Wishing you all a happy & healthy New Year!
