Weekend Style

I dress business casual for work throughout the week with the exception of a rare “jeans Friday”, so weekends are really my only time to get use out of my casual clothes. I love to try out new trends and statement pieces, however a lot of the time I end up in my old standby outfits. More often than not you’ll catch me on the weekends sporting something like the ensembles above. I think both are simple yet chic, and can really work for any casual weekend occasion.

I have always loved stripes, and I don’t see that obsession going anywhere anytime soon, but as my style has developed over the years I started to mix other patterns with my stripes to make the outfits a little more fashion forward and fun. I love adding a little leopard print in to an outfit either with a scarf, shoes, or a bag.

The second outfit is one that could be more day into evening. The black bodysuit is super flattering on especially with the high waisted jeans (or shorts if it’s summer), and the sweater on top makes it a little more conservative to wear during the day. Again, I add in the print with the flats. If I was going to go out in this outfit later I might replace the stud earrings with some drop earrings. If you don’t have a black body suit you can just wear a tight black tank tucked into your jeans. This outfit is super cute and easy in the summer too, I love any color body suit tucked into jean shorts with cute sandals & some sunnies. Also, now that one piece bathing suits are back in style, you can just throw some high waisted jean shorts over your one piece and call it a day!

My favorite ripped jeans are these Joe’s Jeans. They sell Joe’s at Marshall’s at a discount, so that’s where I generally go to look for them. I also like the jeans on ASOS, they have a majority of their clothes in ‘”tall” which is great for me since I normally need a little extra length. Old Navy is great for just basic stripped tops like this one. My favorite flats are these Lucky Brand ones, I have them in more colors than I’d like to admit ( & the leopard ones are on sale right now!) I get them on Zappos so I can get free shipping!
