I’ve been so horrible at keeping up with this for the last few months, and I have a good reason… TWO of my best friends got married this summer and I was MOH in BOTH weddings. Can you say FUN FUN FUN (and a just a drop of stress) ?!?!?
I’m half kidding, all of the happiness and fun really did outweigh any stress. Two weddings meant, two wedding showers, two bachelorette parties, two rehearsal dinners, and about a million dress fittings in between. But truth be told I LOVED every second of it. I love to be in the all the action, know all the details and be involved in the planning. I wouldn’t have it any other way and I’d go back and do it ALL over again if I could.
The first wedding was for one of my best friends/sorority sister/pledge mate from college, and her husband who is also a close friend from college.
Nate and Chelsea met at Keene State through Greek life, so as you can imagine, with all of the frat brothers and sorority sisters who were in attendance, the wedding was an absolute BLAST. The wedding was July 6th at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort in Vermont. The best way I can describe the day was DREAMY. The weather was perfection, the location was absolutely beautiful and fit their relationship so perfectly, and every detail went off without a hitch. I’d go back and relive that day a million times over. We’re already trying to plan a girls trip to visit in the Fall.
The second wedding was just about a month later on August 11th. My best best friend (really more like my sister) from birth married her boyfriend of 3 years, Noah, who I absolutely love. They are so perfect for eachother.
They got married near our home town (where both our parents still live) on Cape Cod at the Orleans Yacht Club. It was a perfect day. I had so much anxiety surrounding this wedding because I knew I would have to give a speech on my own in front of soooo many friends and family members, but after all that worry, everything turned out perfect and the speech went off without a hitch. Rydell was such a relaxed bride, she didn’t have a big wedding party, it was just me as the MOH and Noah’s brother as Best Man. It made everything much simpler which was nice. She even let me pick out my own bridesmaids dress, jewelry, nail color, hair style, etc, etc.
From the rehearsal dinner, to getting ready on the wedding day, to the wedding and even the day after we continued the party, it was all so perfect. I am so sad it’s all over. Weddings (especially weddings that you’re in) are SO much fun, but there’s so much build up and then when it’s over it’s so sad! I can’t imagine how the BRIDE feels… lol. Maybe one day! 🙂
XO,
Em
