My Top 3 healthy habits

  1. I always finish my showers with cold water. There is a TON of research on why being cold in short periods is good for you. It stimulates your mental clarity, gets your blood vessels to open up and increases blood flow to your whole body. I turn the water to freezing cold as soon as I’m done washing my body and I rinse in completely cold water and then stand under the water until I really can’t take it anymore. I am not exaggerating when I say that I feel like a new person when I get out of the shower. I wakes me up and makes me feel so invigorated to take on my day. It’s such a simple change to make in your daily routine, and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
  2. I eat a salad for at least one meal a day (sometimes two). I don’t count calories or go on crazy strict gluten free, paleo, keto diets. But I DO incorporate greens into my meals daily. Eating a salad generally meals your meal will be by default fairly low carb, and will have a decent amount of vitamins to fuel your body. I honestly have fun with my salads, and don’t restrict myself to low cal/low fat dressing, or strictly veggies and grilled chicken. I put add dried cranberries, sweet potato, feta cheese, croutons, quinoa, tortilla chips, beans etc. I just don’t put too much pressure on it, I just make sure it’s a salad, and that’s honestly just good enough! I make my 5 salads at the beginning of the week and I like to use baby kale and spinach as the base, I find that it stays fresh longer than the mixed greens.   3. I use natural beauty products as much as possible. I switched over as many beauty products as I could to all natural alternatives. Our skin is our largest organ, and it’s so important to watch what we let seep in. The main products that I switched our were my body wash, deodorant, foundation, toothpaste and body lotion. I listed the ones I use below, but you can really use any organic beauty products. Just be sure you do your research, the rules can be lax and sometime products are marketed to be “all natural” but if you reach the ingredients that is not actually the case.
